One short conversation at a time
A Voice Mission is a single real moment: ordering a coffee, checking into a hotel, asking which exit is open. Most take two or three minutes.
How TUD works
TUD is a speaking app. You tap a place on a city map and a character talks to you in the language you are learning. You answer out loud. The help you need is always on your screen, not something you ask the character for.
Plain answer
This is the part that surprises most new learners. The character you speak with stays in your learning language for the whole mission, because that is the practice. When you get stuck you do not ask the character for a translation. You read the coach card on your screen, which shows you what to say.
How it helps
A Voice Mission is a single real moment: ordering a coffee, checking into a hotel, asking which exit is open. Most take two or three minutes.
The character will not switch to English. That is deliberate, not a fault. Listening and answering in the language you are learning is the whole exercise.
Guided shows a full example sentence you can read out loud, Balanced shows the key words, and Immersive shows nothing when you want the challenge.
Each mission has a few goals. They tick off as you speak, and completed goals earn the XP that unlocks new areas of the city.
Step by step
Every Voice Mission follows the same shape, so once you have finished one you know how all of them work.
When you are stuck
New learners often try to ask the character for help in their own language. The character stays in the scene and keeps speaking your learning language, so the conversation can stall. The coach card is where the answer lives.
Progress
TUD is free to use every day, and the harder levels are earned rather than bought.

FAQ
Because that is the practice. A Voice Mission is a roleplay, and the character stays in your learning language the whole way through so you get used to listening and answering in it. Your own language is still used for the app itself and for the help on screen.
Read the coach card on your screen. In Guided it shows a full example sentence you can say out loud, and in Balanced it shows the key words. Asking the character for a translation will not work, because the character stays in the scene.
They are the three support levels you can choose before a mission starts. Guided gives you an example sentence for every goal, Balanced gives you key words, and Immersive gives you no on-screen help at all. You can change it for each mission.
Yes, and that is fine. A goal you do not manage simply earns no XP. You still get a short review at the end, and you can replay any mission as many times as you want.
Free learners get 10 speaking minutes per day, and speaking for 5 minutes keeps your daily streak. TUD Pro adds unlimited speaking time.
By earning XP from completed mission goals. Free learners can unlock the whole CEFR-style A1-C2 path with XP. TUD Pro gives early access to B1-C2, but it is not required to reach them.
